Earthplace is a 62-acre sanctuary with trails, museum and nature science exhibits and aquarium. Rolnick Observatory is open free to the public on Wednesday and Thursday evenings weather permitting. Sherwood Island State Park offers 274 acres with a mile-and-a-half long beach; two large picnic groves, swimming, fishing, field sports, picnicking and concessions.
